Sunset Beach Driving Directions
It is easy to find Sunset Beach, NC, and Sunset Vacations from any part of the country. Sunset Beach is conveniently located 50 miles south of the Historic Port of Wilmington, North Carolina and 30 miles north of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Sunset Beach is accessible by airports located in both of those cities. Easy access from interstate highways I-40 and 1-95 makes Sunset Beach very accessible to year round visitors. Driving to Sunset Vacations:
Directions from Myrtle Beach
- Take 17N towards Wilmington through North Myrtle Beach and on through Little River, S.C.
- After going through Little River, you will see signs to Calabash, N.C. Take the first Calabash exit to the right on route 179. This will lead you through Calabash (only one light)-.The bridge is still closed on 179, DO NOT TURN RIGHT please proceed on Old George Town Rd towards the 2nd traffic light at 904 East turn right and right again at the next traffice light.
- Continue on the 179 South towards the circle, turn right at the circle onto the bridge. Our office is on the left red roof, red doors 1st building on the left.
Directions from Raleigh NC and Surrounding Areas:
- Take I-40 East toward Wilmington, NC.
- Take Exit 416A, which is I-140/US-17 toward Shallotte/Myrtle Beach.
- Take Exit 14, which is US-17 S/US-421 S toward Shallotte/Myrtle Beach.
- Stay on US-17/US-421 S until you see the exit for Brunswick County Beaches.
- Take the Exit for Brunswick County Beaches and follow Hwy 17 staying to the right. Once you pass Leland, exit to your right towards Brunswick Beaches and Shallotte.
- You will be on Hwy 17 for about 40 minutes passing the towns of Shallotte, and Ocean Isle Beach. After you pass signs for Ocean Isle, look for signs for Ocean Ridge Plantation which is a good landmark for your exit.
- After you pass Ocean Ridge Plantation on the left, look for 904 East. Turn left at traffic light onto 904 East. McDonalds will be across street on left.
- Follow 904 past the first stoplight, at the second stoplight turn right at the Food Lion shopping center onto 179, also called Sunset Blvd.
- Stay on Sunset Blvd,take right at entrance of bridge Sunset Vacations is on the left.
Directions From Charlotte:
- From Charlotte, you will take Hwy 74 most of the way. It will lead you to Whiteville where you will take the 701-bypass exit to Whiteville. End of exit, take a right.
- Three to four lights through Whiteville, you will take a left onto 130 toward Shallotte.
- On 130, go approx. 20 miles and you will come to a caution light at a red brick church (Soldier Bay Church). Take a right at this intersection on to Longwood Rd.
- Take Longwood Rd/904 ten to fifteen minutes and you will come to the intersection of 904 and Hwy 17. There is a McDonald's and gas station at the intersection. Keep straight on 904.
- Go about four miles, there is one light you will go straight through (Old Georgetown Rd), and at the second light (Food Lion on your right) you take a right on 179, also called Sunset Blvd.
- Stay on Sunset Blvd,take right at entrance of bridge Sunset Vacations is on the left.
