Fall is a great time to visit Sunset Beach, NC. 

The mosquitoes have abated. Most of the tourists have gone home. Our turtles are on the move from their nests. And the sun, while still very much a part of our daily lives, is not quite as unrelenting. Vacation rental prices are going down, down, down. It's a wonderful time to visit Sunset Beach!

Sunset Beach Summer Market | Sunset Vacations

Sunset Beach Summer Market

September 12, 19, 26 and October 3, 10  |  9:00am - 1:00pm

Sunset Beach Town Park, 206 Sunset Blvd.

The Sunset Beach "summer" market actually goes right into fall, with its last day on Thursday, October 10th. The market is popular with locals as well as tourists, as it encourages the use of local farm products and locally prepared foods.  A secondary goal is to "enhance the quality of life in our communities by providing social gathering and interaction". Stop by and join the fun! 


Sunset at Sunset (Festival)

October 5, 2019 |  10:00am - 5:00pm

7625 High Market St , Sunset Beach (in front of the Ingram Planetarium)

Enjoy fabulous music, crafts and food all day. This annual event is held on the first Saturday in October every year, and it just gets better and better. There will be awesome bands and a photography contest as well as a kid-friendly section. Enjoy our fantastic fall weather and our great Sunset Beach tradition. 


St. John's Greek Festival

October 17 - 20, 2019  |  Opens at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and noon on Sunday.

St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church (3301 33rd Ave Ext. N., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577)

"Get your fill of spanakopita, gyros, baklava, cookies, salads, pastries, breads and more as St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church hosts this tasty annual event. The event is fun for the whole family and offers inflatables, live performances and music, craft and vendor tables and tours of the beautiful church."


NC Oyster Festival | Sunset Vacations

Admission:  Adults: $5 CASH ONLY / 12 & Under: Free

Love Oysters? Stop by the Ocean Isle Beach Oyster Festival. Click here for the entertainment and events schedule! There are bands, food, stuff for the kids, as well as shag dancing and oyster shucking competitions.

Oktoberfest 

October 26, 2019  |  11am to 6pm

947 Carter Dr., Calabash NC (behind the Fire Station)

The 6th Annual Calabash Oktoberfest will be held on October 26, 2019!  Who needs to go to Germany when you can find a beer tent, great vendors, a brass band, traditional Bavarian food, delicious Oktoberfest beer, a horse drawn carriage, and an alpine horn player all right here in Calabash? 


North Carolina Festival by the Sea

Oct 26, 2019 - Oct 27, 2019  | Saturday 9am – 5pm, Sunday 9am – 4pm 

Holden Beach Pavilion (0 Jordan Blvd,  Holden Beach, NC 28462)

The NC Festival by the Sea is a coastal arts & crafts festival that features art by local craftsmen and hosts quality live entertainment. Free admission and free parking. The Holden Beach Pavilion is located about 30 minutes from Sunset Beach. 


15th Annual Ocean Isle Beach Flotilla

November 30, 2019  | 5:30 pm

Ocean Isle Beach, near Inlet View Bar & Grill

"The boat parade lines up at 5:30 p.m. in front of Inlet View Bar & Grill. Once dusk has fallen and all the lights are on and ready to go, they will begin their way down the Intracoastal Waterway, ending at Sharky's restaurant around 7:00 p.m. for awards and an after party. You will find excellent viewing spots between both restaurants, including the ending point in the commercial canal in front of Sharky’s Restaurant."  More info at www.oceanislebeachflotilla.com

The sleepy little town of Calabash is located just 10 minutes from our office here at Sunset Vacations. Calabash is one of our favorite spots to eat, shop and explore. If you love Carolina-style seafood it can't be beat. 

Calabash is the seafood capital of the world!
